Subject: Future of the Parodyverse Plot Consultation: The Conclusions In Reply To: Future of the Parodyverse Plot Consultation: The LL Line-Up Changeth |
I'm going on holiday now for a week or so, and I hope to write the ending to the Parody War while I'm away. I'm sorry I didn't get another chapter done to post before I went, but I've been so busy with work that I haven't even begun it. Discussion isn't exactly closed on this topic, but I have formed some preliminary conclusions that I'll be using to inform what I write. I've had on-board or e-mail responses from eleven posters. Poster-characters who are currently LL members that people have explicitly asked to be included in the next line-up include Epitome, Yuki, CSFB! the Shoggoth and the Librarian, with a possible Visionary. There was a split view on changing the LL membership rules re poster-characters, with less enthusiasm for the current rules from the longer-term posters. What I intend to do is to establish a reason why only a handful of Legionnaires are available right after the Parody War, and why others might be back to rejoin days, weeks, months, or years later but will be unavailable until then. The LL themselves won't know when their missing members might be back, so at first they'll wait in hope to see if that'll be very soon. After a few months - say October in real time - we'll do the LL Recruitment Drive, as the team actively try to recruit a new roster. At that time, and in light of poster activity between now and then, we can do stories about why various character would or wouldn't join up. We can also revisit the "rules" question and decide if there are characters we want on the team who don't fit under the former criteria. This works for me because after the end of the Parody War arc I intend to rest Untold Tales for a while, so I wouldn't be in a position to properly establish new characters and chronicle their "bedding in" period. There's some other things I'd like to write. None of this precludes the old-fashioned way of getting a character onto the LL, of course, which is: 1. Ask the board if the posters agree to the addition. 2. Write the story where the character joins. So if you can't wait there's another route to try. HH Heading out. |
